The Hands-On Experience

David Kimball: Massage Therapy in Buffalo and Amherst, NY

Enjoying the Experience

Your massage will typically begin with gentle stretching. Then, light to medium pressure is applied in certain areas to calm your nervous system and begin releasing superficial tension. Gradually, we work more deeply while establishing a level of pressure that's right for you. Occassionally, you will be asked if the pressure is okay. You may choose to talk during your massage or remain in a silent state of light meditation. At any point during your massage, please feel free to ask questions about your treatment.

When and how often you have a massage varies from person to person. You may want to schedule one just before or after a stressful event to create a calm state of mind or to help you recover. If you want to reverse the effects of long-term stress, consider scheduling a series of massages.

As always, we encourage you to consult with your primary care physician on a regular basis.

Embracing the Experience

At David Kimball Massage Therapy, we believe massages are something good that you can do for yourself to produce healthful changes in your lifestyle. Many people who embrace this type of therapy often find themselves developing the energy and desire to pursue other health-related activities such as exercise, good nutrition, or relaxation techniques. We often recommend chiropractic therapy, naturopathic doctors, exercise, and wellness centers to assist you in achieving your goals.
